Euchre

Challenge a friend to classic four-player Euchre. Each of you teams up with a computer partner to call trump, take tricks, and race to ten.

How to play

  • Two humans play on opposing teams, each with a computer partner sitting across the table. Each player receives five cards from a 24-card deck.
  • Bid clockwise from the dealer’s left. Order up the face-up suit, or pass. If all pass, choose another suit in round two.
  • The dealer picks up an ordered-up card and discards one. The caller may go alone, with their partner sitting out.
  • Follow suit when possible. The trump jack is highest; the same-color jack is second highest and also belongs to trump.
  • Makers score 1 for three or four tricks, 2 for all five, or 4 for a lone sweep. A euchre gives defenders 2. First team to 10 wins.
